Let’s start by talking about what I mean by “email marketing mindset”. I really do mean the way you are thinking about email marketing for your business.
For example, if your approach to email marketing is thinking that everyone you email is a customer, you are going to be sorely disappointed. The more productive and profitable approach is to recognize that any time someone joins your email marketing list, you are being given an invitation to build rapport. That new subscriber is asking you, “How can you help me?”. Your email marketing mindset needs to be, “Thank you for the opportunity. Let me help you understand how what I offer can help you achieve your goals.
Another good tip is to treat your subscribers with respect. When I get condescending or insulting offers, I not only delete the email but I also make sure to unsubscribe.
Email marketing, when done properly, can have a huge impact on your business. Be professional. Treat your subscribers with respect. Add value through your content and be available to answer questions and provide real solutions.
