Moving to TrafficWave from another AutoResponder Service
Making the decision to move your list can be challenging. Our goal is to help you make the transition as seamless as possible. If you are moving to TrafficWave from another Autoresponder service, this guide will help guide you through the process. Let’s get started.
The steps involved in making the move will include:
Moving your existing messages from the other service to your TrafficWave account.
Changing your existing capture forms if you are generating online leads.
Informing your subscribers that you are moving to TrafficWave.
Exporting your subscribers from your other service and importing them in to TrafficWave.
Ready To Make The Move?
If you haven’t already opened a TrafficWave account, register here.
If you have already opened a TrafficWave account, log in here.
You will want to be sure to set up your new campaign in TrafficWave.
Next, set up your letters in your new TrafficWave campaign. If you want to transfer letters over from your other account, log in to your other account and send yourself a copy of each letter so that you have a backup. If your letters in the other service rely on a lot of HTML, you will need to plan on spending a bit of time working on the layout editor in TrafficWave to get the formatting to your liking. Be sure to save the images from your letters in the other service to your hard drive so you can load the images in to your TrafficWave letters.
If you have existing capture forms on a web site or blog, now is the time to switch them over to your TrafficWave Capture Forms. Once you close your other account, your existing forms will no longer work.
TrafficWave is known as a double opt-in service.
Double opt-in is an industry standard process used to ensure that only the people who actually want to be on your list and receive your information are subscribed to your list.
When someone is added to your email list, either by filling out an online form or through an app, we send a confirmation message to them. When we move your list over from the other service, we will consider a one-time bypass of the confirmation message based on list size, how the list was generated, how frequently you mail to the list, and other factors.
Moving Your Subscribers
It’s nice to give subscribers notice that you’ll be switching to a new email service provider, since they’ll be receiving a confirmation message from you.
At this point, you’ll want to go back to your other account so that you can send the last message to your list, letting them know of the move and asking them to confirm that they still want to hear from you.
Explain the transition as a benefit to your subscribers. like this:
Dear (First Name),
We’re so glad you’re enjoying receiving our ______________ newsletter each week. We have really appreciated your continued support!
As a valued reader, we wanted to take a moment to let you know that we are moving to a new email provider, TrafficWave.net.
Over the next day or two, you’ll begin receiving our newsletters from this new email provider.
We appreciate your patience as we make this transition.
This email doesn’t have to be fancy. In fact, a quick message that is short and to the point is best. Just remember to add the subject line of your confirmation email or your business name so that it’s easily identifiable in the inbox.
Export Your Subscribers from you other account To Your Computer
Now that you’ve set up your confirmation email, you’re ready to bring your contacts from the other account over to your TrafficWave account.
From your other account, export your contacts into a CSV file. You can select what information to export, then save. Make sure to export and save all lists that you wish to bring in to TrafficWave.
Log in to your TrafficWave members area and open a new support ticket.
Be sure to include the following:
1) Your list as a CSV file.
2) Which campaign you want the list imported to.
3) The total subscriber count.
4) How did these subscribers join your list?
Provide as much detail as possible.
Did you buy the list?
Did they join from your web site? (Include the URL)
Did they join from various capture pages? (include the URL’s)
Did they meet with you in person and asked to be added?
Was this list purchased?
How often have you been emailing the list?
We will review the list and, if accepted, begin importing the list to the specified TrafficWave campaign. The process will be monitored and may take up to 2 business days for the import to be completed.
