A friend recently asked, “Should I build an email list?”. I chuckled. I thought he was kidding. He really wasn’t sure. We had a good conversation and now he is building his email list … and driving sales in his business.
This is why my answer to the question, “Should I build an email list?” is always: Absolutely! Let’s look at some of the reasons:
Building your email list helps you find people genuinely interested in your offer. The way they got on your list is that they requested your information by filling out capture form. This is how you know they are interested in learning more about your offer.
Building your email list makes it easier to generate sales revenue with the click of a button. I often talk about how building your email list is like creating your own personal online ATM. When you create or find an offer that appeals to your subscribers, you can broadcast that offer out and expect sales to start coming in!
I’ve been singing the accolades of list building since the year 2000. I’ve had experience selling everything from marketing tools to coffee, financial services to travel, and many offers in between. How did I do that? I built email lists of people that wanted to know more about the product or service I had available.
I then followed up with those subscribers to let them know how my offer could help them solve a problem.
My next step was to follow up and show them how to contact me or place an order.
If you are asking, “Should I build an email list?”, let me ask you something:
Does the idea of having a list of people you can sell to on a regular basis excite you?
If you answered “yes”, then you definitely need to get started on building an email list. I’ve been list building for 19 years and it has been the key to my ability to generate only sales on a daily basis.
