An important question to ask as you begin your email marketing journey is, “Who owns the list?”. Not every method of email marketing is setting you up to win. You must choose carefully.

Sounds good, right? You get to work driving traffic to the capture page and generating leads. As long as the company stays in business, you may be doing just fine. But if something goes south … the company folds or you decide to go in a different direction, your list is gone. The company owns the list.
