“My TrafficWave Sponsor Sucks” is a complaint I do get from time to time. There is no denying that some sponsors are better than others. Some are actually pretty solid. Their referrals just won’t take enough consistent action and they would rather blame their sponsor than take responsibility.
Just this past week, I got an email from someone that complained their sponsor never contacts them … is never available … doesn’t provide any support or training… and they are wanting to quit.
I looked at their account, and I asked “Would it help if your sponsor emailed you regular training tips, created videos that show you how to use the tools, made themselves available for live online sessions and even offered to do 1 on 1 zooms with you to help you make the most of this system?”
They said, “Yes! THAT is what I need!”
I then said, “Man, have I got great news for you! I’m the guy emailing you regular training tips. I’m the guy that created the videos on our YouTube channel. I’m the guy that offers to meet with you live every Monday evening for Email Marketing Monday. And, I’m the guy offering to meet with you via Zoom 1 on 1.” I still haven’t heard back from them. It doesn’t really matter who their actual “sponsor” is. My goal is to treat every TrafficWave user as if I had personally referred them.
So, I know I’m a fairly “extreme” example. I want to make sure you have every bit of information, training, and support you need to succeed, regardless of who actually referred you. The “catch” is that it will be up to you to actually execute on the things we go over.
From time to time, I will get the occasional message from someone asking, “What team should I join for best results?”.

So, how do I deal with the “My TrafficWave Sponsor Sucks” complaints?
Sometimes, the complaint is legitimate. Maybe their sponsor never responds or provides any support. If that describes you, let me encourage you to become a responsible sponsor. Reach out to your team. Build a relationship. Teach them how to use these powerful tools in their business. All you really have to do is point them back to the system. The emails, the videos, the live sessions … they really cover all the info someone needs to get solid email marketing results. If you just love doing your own training, creating content, etc… you can. But it really makes sense for you to focus on using the tools, generating referrals, and letting us get them introduced to the tools and how to use them.
If you are one of those “Let us build it for you” sponsors, I can tell you exactly why your business isn’t growing. You are recruiting a bunch of people that are waiting for all that spillover you promised them.
Imagine how much better your retention will be AND how much faster your income will grow if you are USING the tools and showing others how you do it. It’s all part of that Learn Do Teach system that so many successful coaches and teachers use.
There are some really great sponsors. I have seen the other side of the “My TrafficWave Sponsor Sucks” story. What do I mean? I know one sponsor in particular who personally uses these tools to generate thousands of dollars in sales for his own business every month, constantly teaches and reminds his team to learn and use the tools, has done a number of facebook live videos, and webinars with me to help his team. And, I still have some who say, “I never hear from him. I quit.”. They hear from him. They just don’t listen to him. He’s actually a great sponsor. He leads by example and he leads from the front. He’s a great example for us all.
Here is something very important to remember:
“Your results won’t come from your team or your sponsor. Your results will come from you learning and using the tools.”
Since we launched TrafficWave in the year 2000, my sponsor has never … NOT ONCE … reached out to me, given me any spillover, shown me what to do or how to do it. My TrafficWave Sponsor Sucks! (I don’t actually have a sponsor.)
Yet I continue learning and using these tools to build my own lists and drive sales for my businesses. (I actually do all that stuff I keep teaching.)
Would I prefer that every sponsor be responsible, professional, ethical, reliable, and supportive? Absolutely!
