Believe it or not, this will happen more often than not. With a little research, you can quickly find the average open rates for your industry. A quick search for “average open rate by industry” will give you quick insight as to how others are doing in your industry.
For this recent experiment, we were happy to see that TrafficWave enjoys a MUCH higher open rate across our industry. Where most of our competitors came in around 21% to 23%, we found that our open rate was 34%.
We were, of course, very excited to see that. We credit the cleanliness of our lists, the systems here at TrafficWave, and our content being on point and relevant.
Still … we wanted to see if we could bump it up a bit. So, we wrote a letter designed specifically to wake up sleepy subscribers … those subscribers who had not opened any of our messages over the past 30 days.
The video above shows how we did it. We boosted our open rate by 0.5% over a 2 day window. We’d call that a win!
