This morning, as I was taking my walk and thinking through my goals, I received a few notifications on my smartphone about new leads. These were people who, while I was taking my walk, had gone to my web site and requested more information about email marketing.
As I glanced at my phone, I had to grin and I thought to myself, “I really do love email marketing!”
When you have set up your email marketing campaign, you basically go through the following phases:
Generating New Leads Your advertising drives visitors to your web site. Those visitors who are interested in learning more fill out a brief form to request more information and voila! You have a new leads in your email marketing database. When you set it up properly and you are consistently advertising, you can see this happen 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Whether you are in the office, on vacation, at the gym, with friends, your autoresponder system can consistently generate new leads for your business.
Following Up With Your Leads As your follow up messages begin going out to leads you’ve generated, you are building rapport, helping establish your credibility, showing your readers how to solve problems, and driving new sales.
This also happens 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. When I got back from my walk, I logged in to see that new customers had signed up with our service. This happens no matter where I am or what I am doing. Even when I am sleeping, someone on the other side of the planet is being exposed to my offers and they can sign up on our web site.
Don’t let me give you the impression that this is all some sort of “automated income”. I put in the work to set up my follow up letters, create my capture page, create and run ads. Then I track the ads, track the results, check on conversions, modify my letters, run more ads, etc…
Some days, it feels “automated” and other days, I am putting in some ridiculous hours. The Free Online Marketing Course I created took a number of weeks or writing, proofreading, learning new software, setting up capture pages, running ads, etc… These days, I run more ads, look for new places to advertise, keep tracking results, etc…
